Flat Rate Items Include Labor and Materials

My company works with flat rate pricing where we have an inventory item that includes materials and labor as one flat rate line item but, I have not figured out a way to take that item and assign labor to labor costs and material to material costs. I have this same issue with revenue when using these items and I am only able to chose one account to apply costs and revenue. I have tried kits, and groups and have been unsuccessful. TIA
