Dunning Letters – Pre-Due Reminder at Customer Level

Hi all,
Is there a way to send a Dunning Letter before the invoice due date at the Customer level?
I know Dunning is based on days past due, but wondering if early reminders can be part of the Dunning process or if it requires a separate Saved Search and Workflow.

Any suggestions are welcome.
