Line Items on NetSuite

Hi,

When exporting an invoice from our approval system into NetSuite, the bill will have the information filled out under expenses and items being just the expense section filled out with the usual invoice information. The items section is left blank.
Are we able to add ad hoc values into the items field in order to add line items from the invoice?
