Outsource Mfg PO custom form Sublist Fields > Item Filter question

How can Sublist Fields > Item Filter feature be used on custom Outsourced MFG Purchase Order Form to limit the Assembly Items shown in dropdown list?

We have used the Item Filter for other custom forms (Standard PO, Sales Order, Invoice etc.), setting a custom Item Saved Search to limit items in dropdown lists

Same approach is not working for the Outsourced MFG purchase order

Any guidance, suggestions greatly appreciated, Thanks!
