First time reconciliation - Match groups

My comptroller and I are having issues reconciling in netsuite. In an attempt to isolate the issue, we are only trying to reconcile a single day, however Netsuite is selecting transactions from other dates than the single date in question. Is this because there are some transactions locked into a match group? Ie. All April transactions can ONLY be in a match group with other April transactions and if a May transactions is in the match group, the whole group is selected to reconcile instead of only the April transactions? Before I go and unmatch everything from April and re-match
