Order Reservation without a sales channel

Hi There

Is it possible to use the order reservation mechanism to reserve stock for internal use?

Scenario: a company is a wholesale distributor and retailer.

Stock is required to be reserved for sale to wholesale customers (which can be done using the wholesale sales channel) but also for internal use for the company's retail stores.

For the latter, how would you reserve incoming stock since there will be no underlying sales orders for the company's own retail operations?
