Import Sales Order Items Criteria

I am trying to find the exact criteria needed to update a sales order items. What fields are needed? I am need confirmation, is the sales order internal ID needed or is the Sales Order name correct? What information is needed for the order line information? Do i need the internal id for the item? I feel like this should be a common and easy to find answer but I havent seen anything
