Fiscal Calendar for Custom Tables

Each of the out-of-the-box NetSuite subject area datasets includes fiscal calendar information for dates. We've built custom datasets from outside data sources that also have dates in them. Is there something that can be done to include the same fiscal calendar information from NS in the custom dataset, or do we have to create our own fiscal calendar table and join that to the custom datasets?
