Am I doing the right thing by closing this line?

edited Oct 30, 2025 3:41PM in Ask A Guru 4 comments

Hi all, I'm not used to using Close too often on orders, the company have most often just deleted items, quantities or records when appropriate but now we need to use Close as WMS Waves and Releases are taking hold of those items and not allowing us to modify them otherwise.

In my scenario:
The customer ordered 12 of an item,
Two Item Fulfillments were made for 2 and 5
We physically only sent 2
The customer was billed for 2 and 5
RMA was created for 5
We then closed the line to clear off the 10? (However many remaining) items the SO was trying to send because the Wave had already been released to pick the remaining items.
