FAM: Rename split assets

I have a client that is creating assets for bulk laptop purchases. When it comes time to dispose of one of those laptop, they first have to split up that bulk asset. For tracking purposes, they then go and manually rename each of the split assets to include the laptop serial number in new asset name. Is there a way in the split process to name the new split assets so as to avoid having to manually rename each one? I looked the bulk split CSV feature, but it doesn't include the asset name.
