Can I add to a multi select via CSV without downloading the existing data?

I want to upload values via CSV for my item records to a multi select field and will want to do this quite regularly so the information is quite prone to change.

If the field on and item record already contains the selections of 1, 4, 5 is there a way I can upload 6 to that selection whilst retaining 1, 4 and 5?
Or do I first and always need to download the information of 1, 4, 5 to then add 6 in my CSV and upload 1, 4, 5, 6?

Hope that makes sense. Appreciate the help!
