Vendor-Provided Inventory Qty. - Automate Lead Time
A few of our vendors provide us with weekly inventory level updates for the items we purchase from them.
Currently, we store this data on a Custom Record. It's a simple record that records the Item Name, Vendor, and the Stock Quantity
We manually enter lead times through CSV, since we want to have control over them, as they can change rapidly.
The user is asking what the best method is for storing this data and automating the process of calculating ATP based off of specific Vendor Inventory quantity vs. our local Qty. on Hand.
An example could be, our standard lead time is 35 days on a product. However, if we notice that the vendor has the item in stock, we want to change the lead time to reflect a lead time we know is accurate, say 10 days vs. 35 since we know that's when we'll have it.
