We recently implemented the WIP and Routing and Manufacturing Routing and Work Center modules and want to know if there is a way to issue or consume more components than what's listed on the BOM. How can this be done?
We are a job shop and steel is one of the main components we use in our work orders. Let's say we have a routing operation that calls for 6 sheets of steel. Sometimes, however, the steel is warped or damaged or cannot be used. In that case, we need to use 7 or 8 sheets of steel. We figured we could overcome this by doing another Work Order Issue and issue out extra pieces of steel; however, NetSuite does not seem to let us issue more than the BOM declares (and this makes sense, because then it would sound like we planned to use extra steel). If we want to indicate that we used more steel than what was required, how do we do that? Can we do that in a Work Order Close? Is there a way we can do it earlier than that?
