Use CSV import to update inventory details on sales order

For a subset of our orders, the inventory details (lot code) is assigned prior to the fulfillment. I can import the data in with a csv import, but have not been successful at doing a csv import to update the lot code with a new lot code. I receive the follwing error (Items on this line have been fulfilled. To delete this line, you must first delete the corresponding line(s) in the associated transaction(s).) I have the ovewrite subdetails selected.
