Customer Payment Issue

I've received a payment from a customer and applied it at the invoice level. Once I save it, the payment shows in undeposited funds. When I try to record the deposit, the payment is not appearing in my list of deposits. I've tried following the step-by-step in SuiteAnswers, etc, but nothing is working. Does anyone have a suggestion how to get this to process correctly?
