We are experiencing intermittent "Pivot Table Cache Exception" errors when running saved transaction reports via the NetSuite Analytics API. The same reports work perfectly in the NetSuite UI.
Error message (consistent across all failures):
Pivot Table Cache Exception: /opt/deploy/netledger-all/netledger/WEB-INF/log/reportdata/<uuid>pivotcellcache-0 (No such file or directory)
The UUID is different on every attempt, indicating the server is failing to CREATE the cache file, not looking for a stale one.
What we've observed:
- The error is INTERMITTENT — the same report with the same parameters can work one hour and fail the next. There is no change on our side between working and failing states.
- The UI is completely unaffected — every report that fails via API renders correctly in the NetSuite UI, regardless of size or date range.
- Cloning reports does not help — a fresh clone of a failing report also fails with the same error.
- The problem is worsening — reports that worked reliably via API until April 14 started failing on April 15. Initially only large reports were affected. Now even small date ranges intermittently fail.
What we've tried:
- Reducing date ranges (full range → yearly → 6-month → quarterly splits)
- Splitting reports by account type filters (fewer rows per report)
- Cloning affected reports (creates new report IDs)
- Running reports from the UI first (hoping to warm the cache)
- None of these reliably fix the issue
Environment:
- Access method: NetSuite Analytics API via the official NetSuite MCP (AI Connector Service)
- Report type: Saved transaction detail reports (GL dumps with 26 columns)
Any help is appreciated.
