Dear team,
I wanted to confirm what I suspect is a system limitation/default NS behaviour.
We want to set a default custom form on expense report transaction for a specific user subsidiary. This should be applicable to both full-license roles as well as a specific employee center role.
We have created a set field value action within our expense report approval workflow and the custom form value is set on before record load, provided the user subsidiary is the desired one.
This is working as expected for admin role as well as other full-license roles.
However, when creating the ER from the specific employee center role the ER loads with what appears to be a standard form.
When the ER is submitted/saved the custom form is set to the desired one but this is too late and ideally the desired form should be set to on the before record load.
We have tested this with on entry, before user edit and after field edit but this simply does not work in the employee center role.
I must add that:
- on the employee center role - no preferred ER form is set.
When, for testing purposes, we set the desired ER form on the role itself - the correct form would load immediately on the ER.
I know that we could set the preferred desired form on the employee center role itself but this is not feasible because the employee cente role is shared among users from different subsidiaries and we do not want to affect users from other subsidiaries - the default ER form should be strictly set only for users belonging to specific subsidiary, regardless of the role.
Now comes the question - is this an inherent limitation or a design whereby NetSuite handles page rendering for employee center roles?
Many thanks
Kind regards
Jan
