Time difference between 2 Date/Time fields
Hi,
I’m working with 2 custom Date/Time fields in a saved search and trying to calculate the time difference between them.
For example:
- start = 03/01/2025 2:00:00 PM
- end = 03/01/2025 3:30:00 PM
The formula I’m currently using returns the result in decimal hours:
- 1.5 hours
- 0.75 hours (07/01/2025 7:00:00 PM − 07/01/2025 6:15:00 PM)
ABS(TRUNC(((TO_DATE(TO_CHAR({end},'MM/DD/YYYY HH24:MI:SS'),'MM/DD/YYYY HH24:MI:SS')-TO_DATE(TO_CHAR({start},'MM/DD/YYYY HH24:MI:SS'),'MM/DD/YYYY HH24:MI:SS'))*24),2))
What I need instead is for the result to display in hours and minutes format, like:
- 1:30
- 0:45
I’ve been trying to figure this out for a while but haven’t had any success. Any help would be appreciated.
