How to Use the Rich Editor
The Rich Editor helps you create well-formatted and engaging posts. Key features include:
Text Formatting
Use toolbar buttons or shortcuts for formatting:
- Bold: ctrl+b or ⌘+b
- Italic: ctrl+i or ⌘+i
- Link: ctrl+k or ⌘+k
The formatting menu is dynamic and appears when you select text.
Paragraph Formatting
Click the paragraph icon to access:
- Heading Formats (4 levels)
- List Formats (numbered, bulleted, indent/outdent)
- Special Formats (quote, code block, spoiler)
- Standard Format
Lists
- Start a list with “-” for bullets or “1.” for numbers. Press enter to move to the next item; enter twice to end the list.
- Nest lists up to 4 levels deep.
Emojis
- Click the smiley face icon (bottom left) to access thousands of emojis, organized into 8 categories.
Uploading Images and Files
- Use the image icon to add images or drag them directly into the editor.
- Use the paperclip icon to attach files or drag files into the editor.
Mentions
- Type “@” and begin entering a username to mention another user. Select from the dropdown list to notify them. Mentioned users will receive a pop-up or email alert, depending on their settings.
