These tips are intended to facilitate positive discussions and enhance the Oracle Community experience. They will help you understand what it means to be a member of the Oracle Communities and are to support you and the rest of the Oracle Community in having an enjoyable experience.
Search First 🔍
There is a lot of great information available, so search the Community first to see if your question has been answered or is being discussed. Then add your questions or insights. Alternatively, make sure your inquiry has not already been addressed in existing product documentation, or in the extensive support knowledge base. Documentation for Oracle NetSuite products can be found in the Help Center.
Give a thumbs up👍and hit “Like”. Say “YES” if you agree.
Let us get it right. If you like the answer to your question, or see an answer that you agree with, let us know. You will make it easier for members, including yourself, to find threads with the ‘best’ answer; they will be ranked at the top in search results! And remember, if you later find the answer to your question, you can give back to the Community by posting an update to your question.
Give proper attribution.
When sharing information or content from external sources, provide proper attribution and give credit to the original authors or creators.
Be Consistent. Be Concise. Stay relevant. 📝
Choose your words and forum wisely. Post once in one forum and make it count. Good contributions provide relevant, insightful information and ask important questions.
New topic, new thread.
Tempted to ask a related (or even an unrelated) question on yours or another’s thread? Post a new thread instead and, if there's value in keeping the topics together, reference the original thread by including a link.
Tag you’re it!
Lure members to click on your post by using commonly searched for tags and cleverly worded subject headings that are a snapshot your question. This will certainly give your thread an advantage in searches.
You are unique⭐️
Become more than just a number. Change your Community display name to something more memorable and personalize your avatar. Other Community members will find it easier to remember you, and therefore more inclined to respond to you.
Keep the Order 🚩
The Community exists for you. You can help keep it a safe, positive, and valuable place by reporting violations using the flag icon visible in each Community’s site. Please use the reporting tools responsibly and only for their intended purpose.
Remember the Golden Rule ✊
Be respectful. The Community enables interaction among a global community, made up of users with all levels of expertise. Respond promptly to follow-up or clarifying questions, and let respondents know when something they have suggested works. Keep in mind that the tone you use might not always be conveyed effectively through the written word, and humor (especially sarcastic humor) can often be misinterpreted. Even use of all capitals can be considered as shouting. Approach discussions, even ones in which disagreements arise, by showing respect for those engaging with you. By showing respect to each other and maintaining a professional decorum, we create an inviting environment that encourages engagement and builds the Oracle Communities’ value for everyone.
