Hi, Did you try to do it by yourself? Because the post you link give most of the things you will need ... Based on your example, assuming you want to calculate value of Column B based on value of Column A you are looking to get the date of the last Saturday before the date (or the date itself if it's a Saturday).

Well, if you don't change the analysis itself, you don't change OBIEE version and the query change then there aren't 10 places where to look for... 525401 wrote:....I don't believe they changed anything major. ... Never supposed that, mainly if you aren't part of the dev team doing the job Many things can change the way a…

Just to add that the RPD is interesting but the front-end elements are also extremely helpful, many analysis and pieces of code you can just copy/paste. Sample App must be mandatory to have for any OBIEE developer ... And .... it's free!

Can't you just post a picture or something showing what you are looking for ? Because I can't really imagine how a list of 20-30 dashboard can be horizontal in a menu ... (and I don't really remember how 10g looked like as it was so long time ago)

It's not important what it is or why it is, but a column without aggregation rule is not supposed to be into a (logical) fact table. That's why it becomes a degenerated dimension. So you add a new logical table to your business model, you add the columns of your logical fact without aggregation (so using the same physical…

Hi, You model it as a degenerated dimensions and then you set the content level to tell OBIEE how to manage it with the 2nd fact not having it as a dimension (the standard way of configuring conformed and not conformed dimensions in a model). Your fact tables must contain only aggregated columns.

525401 wrote:... I've never had to do this in the past with previous versions of this rpd. Does it mean you did an update / upgrade and now it is generating the queries in a different way? What version are you using and what version was the "past" ?

Hi, The easier way, as you also want to change the domain, would probably be a proxy server in front of it. So a standard webserver (Apache, Nginx etc.) listening on port 80 (standard http:// ) for reports.comcast.com and forwarding the request to your OBIEE server.

Another options, maybe a bit simpler and also faster ... DB1.dbo.FileB.ID = DB1.dbo.FileA.ID AND ( DB1.dbo.FileB.Type = 'XXX' AND DB1.dbo.FileA.Status = 'Active' AND DB1.dbo.FileB.Start-Date >= DB1.dbo.FileA.Start-Date AND DB1.dbo.FileB.End-Date <= DB1.dbo.FileA.End-Date ) OR ( DB1.dbo.FileB.Type <> 'XXX' OR…

You can try something like that (quickly done, so double check the logic ...): DB1.dbo.FileB.ID = DB1.dbo.FileA.ID AND CASE WHEN DB1.dbo.FileB.Type = 'XXX' and DB1.dbo.FileA.Status = 'Active' THEN DB1.dbo.FileB.Start-Date ELSE DB1.dbo.FileA.Start-Date END >= DB1.dbo.FileA.Start-Date AND CASE WHEN DB1.dbo.FileB.Type = 'XXX'…

Well, your CASE WHEN doesn't really make sense from a SQL point of view ... In a SQL query you can't write that kind of CASE WHEN, the THEN condition (and the ELSE) can't contain the = condition but it must return a column and you put the = after the CASE WHEN ... END. You must rewrite your CASE WHEN in a different way,…
-
Not a simple checkbox allow you to define that kind of condition in the prompt, but you can easily setup a display condition on the section(s) of your page showing your analysis only if 3 or more values are selected. 1) You create you prompt without any special setting 2) You create an analysis containing only the column…

Hi Jerry, Yes you can use a CASE in a physical join. But you have to go into the Expression Builder as you don't have a special button like in 10g to create a complex join vs. a normal join, so OBIEE automatically makes it complex if required and it will decide based on the condition you write into the field inside the…

Hi, Adding a proxy in front of it? Or are you trying to deploy 2 instances of OBIEE or things like that?
-
Not really ... What you ask is doable with many prompts (like 3-4) and you can enter a name into each one, but just one per prompt. Your condition isn't one that you can apply on a list of elements, so you ask to be able to split the value you enter based on the " ; " and then build dynamically a filter condition joined by…

In addition to what Christian said, the "SUM(.... by something)" is like a group by something in SQL, so it's more to get subtotals and things like that.

Your query is not being sent to the DB, it actually stops in the cache as there is a match. But if for any reason your cache contains bad or wrong data (maybe because of when you started building things etc.) you don't get any data out. And because of the cache you also don't see the physical SQL sent to the DB. So as you…

Hi, As it's a web page with many elements into other (tables into cells etc.) it's a bit complicated to clearly manage column width .... Did you set the width of the column on the header as well? Did you enable the "wrap" option on the column? If you start setting the width you want at all the levels you generally manage…
-
If you look at your logs how does OBIEE translate that simple logical SQL into a physical SQL? Because if it does you clearly see the physical query and you can find out what the server is asking to your DB, if it doesn't you generally have some messages around telling you what stopped the query. You can also have filters…

While looking at logs (based on Christian's link) did you try to connect with a LDAP client and enter the same criteria in the search? Do you end up with all the users or just few of them? (Maybe the AD guys didn't really told you the truth about their LDAP and so your settings aren't really working ...)
