Hi @Bret Grinslade - Oracle Analytics-Oracle , I can confirm this is not the case. Just today I encountered a situation where users were unable to edit definition in the dataset (greyed out) and even after granting them full control on the dataset the option to edit definition was still greyed out. I did some digging and found this post on My Oracle Support which states the user also needs full control access to the connection used to create the dataset. After providing the user with full control to the connection, then edit definition was enabled. Obviously, this is not a feasible solution because from a governance and security best practices perspective we don't want users to have full control access to the connections.

Its disappointing that the connection and dataset permissions are not segregated and I hope your team is aware of this issue and its on the roadmap to be resolved?

Here is what the My Oracle Support instructions were. In case it didn't through, it states that "The Owner of the connection will need to grant Full Access on the Connection to the user who needs Edit Definition access. The My Oracle Support post was last updated in 2023, but still holds true. Please advise on the update around this. Thank you
