Exporting OAC dashboard reports in unformatted (Excel/CSV) version through Agents

Organization Name
Uponor Oyj
Description
The standard OAC agents exports the formatted reports with 25000 rows. There is no option in the current OAC version (5.7) for exporting the reports in unformatted version through agents like dashboard reports which can be exported in Unformatted/Formatted output files.
Use Case and Business Need
The OAC agent delivers/exports the formatted reports up to 25 K rows which impacts the analysis of large reports which renders with more than 25k rows. The on-premise OBIEE application agents exports more than 80k rows with the current set up and Moving away from this functionality in OAC will increase the effort for redesigning many reports and agents.

Implementing this functionality would help the OAC users.

This functionality is required since the formatted export is limit is low and based on OCPUs.

The data in csv or delimited csv is good, but an extra excel compression is good for sending the data by e-mail.

This functionality would significantly improve delivering analysis via agent. CSV format generates large-sized files for example unformatted excel exported manually from the analysis view with a size of 3MB will have 44,6MB as CSV format with the same set of rows, even a smaller analysis with the size of less than 1MB can have more than 10MB as CSV.
Most email servers won't accept large files so there is no point in creating agents in the first place and users are forced to log into OAC and generate analysis manually.

We would appreciate an export option that has no limit on row count nor file size.
In case this is seen as a potential security threat, it would be nice to be able to configure this particular action.
e.g. what user/role/group
- can export unlimited size,
- can create/modify/run an agent/analysis that exports unlimited rows
Thanks,
Marcelo

Agent limits have been recently updated.

@Alan Lee - Oracle-Oracle that's correct, agent limits had been increased but this topic is mainly about the file type. Unformatted excel is still not available via agent. We can only use formatted .xlsx files.

This does appear to be a fairly new feature. Please see
Restrict data export and delivery
Option to limit the maximum number of rows that users can export or deliver by email in formatted and unformatted content.
See System Settings - Restrict Data Export and Delivery.
