Description
In Oracle Analytics Server 'Home' page, we have an issue when users logging in can view all subject areas, all projects, data flows etc... even though the users logging in have been restricted to access this in the RPD and with application roles. We would like to have the ability to restrict users from seeing all items in the Home page. Users are unable to load the data returned if they happen to click on an item that has been restricted, however if a user has been restricted access, they should not see it anywhere.
Can I request this be reviewed by the relevant team? I previously raised an SR on this and currently it is not possible to restrict the view within the Home page in OAS
Use Case and Business Need
We will be migrating over a large number of users into OAS over the next number of weeks and we need to be able to restrict the views of content in the Home page of OAS. The titles of certain reports/projects and subject areas should not be seen to users if they do not have access.
We do not want users from other areas of the business viewing what others have been granted to. Title such as 'Finance KPIs' is not something a low level user should be aware of.
More details
OAS has no ability to restrict areas of the Home page or other sections. Unlike the OBIEE 11g and 12c application, the administrator could access the 'Manage Privilege' section in Administrator and update each area with who can view that particular area in Answers.
I would like something that would restrict views in the Home Page. Or the ability to not show all icons in the Home page, only those which a user has been granted access to
