OAC hierarchy prompts for EPBCS adapter reports

Organization Name
Enbridge, Inc.
Description
At this time, reports built using the OAC to EPBCS direct connection adapter cannot use the hierarchy prompt functionality if the source application has data-level security enabled. Development team confirmed the limitation is due to individual users not having access to the root (top-level) dimension member. When a user tries to use a hierarchy prompt, the list-of-values (expected to be displayed as the dimension) hierarchy does not load. To the user, it appears as if the hierarchy prompt is "hanging". Support confirmed the prompt isn't hanging, it is displaying no results.
Desired change is for the hierarchy prompts to function - either returning the hierarchy results to which the user has access to see or for the hierarchy results to display un-restricted by the defined security (as customer only requires the measure values, not dimension values, to be secured).
Use Case and Business Need
Customer has a requirement to use hierarchy prompts as they are intended to function. Only proposed workaround to this production limitation at this time is to use a flattened column and for users to individually select the dimension members they desire to see in the report. This is not realistic as the list of child dimension members can be in the hundreds or thousands depending on the hierarchy.
More details
The hierarchy prompt functionality does not work for the OAC reports developed using the EPBCS adapter if security is applied. Customer requires security to be applied in their EPBCS application.
