Hi,
Our organiztion moving from Application to Application integration from Basic Authentication to Modern Authentication. In our case our Oracle Analyticd Cloud (OAC) integration with office 365 using basic authentication. To comply with our security policy as well as increasing security around our application we need to move from Baisc Authetication to Modern authentications. At this time it is not supporting.
We have open an SR with Oracle support to confirm ut and they have adivce us to open an idea or future enhancement request.

Hi Alan,
Our requirement SR 3-30561246951 is for Oracle Analytics Server 2023 to support Modern Auth so that we can leverage Oracle BI Agents to send emails. The link you provided above is for apps that don't support two step verification. In OAS 2023 we only have basic authentication over port 587. There is no option to feed in Client ID/ Tenant ID/ Client secret as is the case with Modern Authentication. We are trying to enable the OAS SMTP Email functionality. So there is no two step verification that we are trying to get around. We are tryign to configure it as per below OAS documentation:

Even though the doc link discusses the use case of 2FA, it provides a way to generate a password for O365 SMTP. This can be used when configuring the SMTP in OAS.

Hi Alan,
Thanks for the response. The customer has declined using an application specific password especifically if the application is not hosted in their network. For anything that is third party hosted (like in our case OAS is on Oracle Cloud), they would like OAS to support O365 (using Modern Auth) and not use the workaround. Are there any plans to support Modern Auth in OAS out of the box.
