This is needed in cases that you need cross reference DV projects but you just need to point or redirect the user to a specific canvas in your project. 

 

Use Case and Business Need

Also links to a specific canvas is important to improve customer experience as sometimes you just need the user to take a look to specific parts of your project. Stories will not work in this case.
