Message Alert Data Flow/Sequence status

Organization Name (Required - If you are an Oracle Partner, please provide the organization you are logging the idea on behalf of):
Oracle
Description (Required):
Set an alert via email in which we are notified if a data flow/sequence failed to run according to a schedule. More than that, it would be useful if we could set more email addresses - in case the DF owner is out of office, the cover person would receive the error DF alert, and notify the users of the outputs/dashboards.
Use Case and Business Need (Required):
I`m proposing this feature which I think it is essential - there are a lot of cases when data flows/sequences fail the scheduled run. The users might take wrong decisions based on the non-refreshed data.

We have the exact business Use case in that we would like to be notified by email if any of our Production dataflow fails for whatever reason. Thanks!

I voted for it. Really needed.

We are currently looking into this and it's on the longer term roadmap. I agree that it is an essential feature. I'm interested in what your current process is for detecting failed jobs?

We currently created a BIP data model and report based off BI_SERVER_ASYNC_JOB_STATUS table in the BIPLATFORM schema in OAS. Someone needs to look at the failed dataflows in the BIP report to take any corrective action. I am not even sure if this is a workable solution for OAC since these tables may not even be exposed in OAC.

In each DF I have one column that keeps the current date. That date is posted in DV visualization, and represents latest update. But this is like a trick, when you have multiple datasets it`s hard to keep track on each of them.

This is really required feature to know the failure of dataflows as sometimes these are user specific and owned by them where users of DF are not aware of the failures when they are off causing some delays in daily reporting needs. Good to have this as early as possible.
Sharing something I read related to this topic. Please check the same and hope this helps.

You can Push that to ADW Scheduler and from there build a mini Job to pick up the schedules updated table (Fail , Success) and send email. Its a straight forward workaround. I don't know why oracle giving us hard time to have this simple feature.

Much needed feature. It'll help the Admin Team immensely. Upvoted.

I received an email back in September 2024 about setting up email notifications for data flow failures. The link I'm providing will take you to that article and a 4 minute YouTube video on how to configure this. I completed the steps in OCI and now receive alerts if/when an OAC Data Flow fails. Of course, you will need to have some responsibilities in your OCI tenancy to configure.
Here is the link:
Hope that might help.
