Description (Required):

In OAC DV, whenever we try to apply conditional formatting to a table, we can only do it for numeric columns, and not for text columns. Sometimes, we would like the text or the background of a text column to change its color whenever a value in the same row as a given value.

For example, on the image underneath, the column "Indicateurs" isn't formatted. Our goal is to spread the blue background and the bold to the boxes "RBE", "Résultat courant", "Résultat net" and "RNPG".

Use Case and Business Need (Required):

We are building financial dashboards for the ExCom of a major french bank. We display several indicators related to financial analysis. The tables that we show are supposed to represent the ones that they have in their financial reports. In these tables, we are displaying an income statement, in which the intermediate management balances must be highlighted. The fact that the rows "RBE", "Résultat courant", "Résultat net" and "RNPG" don't have a full background impacts negatively the user experience as it becomes harder to match every attribute with its given data.

There is a workaround . If you click on that particular row and select Colour , then you can highglight that entire row . Its not dynamic though .

Thank you very much Anirban, that helps a lot ! Is there the possibility to make the rows in bold as well ? I would like the entire row to be in bold as well as hightlighted.

    Thanks Cyprien.

There is an option of Data font to make it bold , but its getting applied for the whole data .

Yes, that's the issue. I would like the bold to be only applied on the highlighted rows.

  • in Conditional formatting you can limit the scope of the rule using the 'scope' option. this might help you a little bit , but as you mentioned earlier, this only applies to the Data and not the description.
