Oracle Analytics : Feature To Monitor/Manage Initialization Block Queries

Organization Name (Required - If you are an Oracle Partner, please provide the organization you are logging the idea on behalf of):
Product Support Team
Description (Required):
The session initialization blocks is an important feature where the RPD modelling is extensively used and the corresponding variables are used for data security and reporting purposes.
Proposing a feature "Monitor Initialization Block Queries" as an option under Administration > Session Management, similar to the existing functionality "Manage Sessions"
This feature will enable the Administrators and Authors to debug the issues like login delay / report failures / incorrect data in the reports that may occur due to initialization block queries.
Use Case and Business Need (Required):
With this feature, the Administrators and Authors can quickly navigate to "Administration > Session Management > Monitor Initialization Block Queries" and will be able to quickly identify if the issues like login delay / report failures / incorrect data in the reports are caused by any initialization block queries and fix it.

Hi Bala ,
Manage Initialization Block Queries is more like a place holder , where in we provide the sql queries and based on those queries , variables will render data. So not sure from this place how can we get to know the above issues .
Its more like a static place . Manage sessions is dynamic , so we can monitor the dynamicity .
Please let me know if i am missing something here .

Hi Anirban,
Thanks for the feedback. At this point of time, "Manage sessions" shows the report or DV workbook queries but not initialization block queries. Hence, we proposed a new option to "Monitor Initialization Block Queries" as an option under Administration > Session Management to monitor the initialization block queries and their status.
Thanks,
Bala.

The OCI logging does not show the query result of the Init block queries (i.e.) success / failure. Even it fails, the error message is not captured.
Thanks,
Bala.
