Add measure Number Openings Left to Fill to the FAW HCM Talent Acquisition Job Requisition fact
Comments

@Raghavendra Raghunath-Oracle yes - we would like to see the Number of Openings Left to Fill from the OTBI subject area you referenced included in the Fusion Analytics Warehouse HCM - Talent Acquisition subject area.

@Mike Tytler thanks so much for the confirmation. Will get this added.

@Raghavendra Raghunath-Oracle Thank you so much for getting this added. Do we have an anticipated timeframe for when it will be added?

Right now, 24R3 is going on and is locked. Best case would be 24R4. I can keep you posted.

Dear @Gina DiVenti , @Mike Tytler , @Lea B I am in the process of seeding this openings left to fill measure at the grain of the requisition. This will be a balance metric i.e. as of current, how many openings are yet to be filled for a requisition.
I was trying to mimic the same logic that we have in OTBI(in FDI)
Can you check if this works for you? Based on your feedback i plan to retain/modify this
Thanks
Raghu

@Raghavendra Raghunath-Oracle I just reviewed the report you provided on July 3rd. Unfortunately its the same problem/feedback.
FDI is lacking a fact/metric equivalent to OTBI.
OTBI's Openings Left to Fill: includes applicants in Offer Accepted phase/state or applicants in the HR Phase (any state).
The report that you provided in FDI leverages "Openings Filled" which equates to applicants in the "HR Processed" Phase/State based on documentation. HR Processed state only occurs when the person is converted to an employee so could be months after offer accepted.
Formula/what we need in FDI:
Total Openings - (applicants in Offer accepted Phase/state OR any HR phase) = Openings Left to Fill

Hi @Mike Tytler please re-check the formula that I have for the column 'Left to Fill'
I have tried to mimic the same logic as in OTBI
Going by your formula above, is it ok to consider the Job applications in HR phase which are in withdrawn or rejected states also?
In my formula, i have excluded them
on your comment - FDI is lacking a fact/metric equivalent to OTBI - I wanted to run by you before i seed this in the subject area, for validation

My preference would be to have the OTBI "Number of Openings Left to Fill" and this new FAW fact be identical.
I am not sure of all of the logic in the OTBI fact. Is there someone on the Fusion HCM/Recruiting side that you can consult with?
To help, I did some testing in our environments to figure out what OTBI is doing:
- Rejected candidates are excluded
- Withdrawn candidates are excluded
- Offer Accepted (phase/state) is included
- HR any state is included
- unlimited opening requisitions are excluded.
- any custom phases a customer makes between Offer and HR are excluded. I can potentially see customers not liking this but I still strongly think that the two metrics need to be in alignment (OTBI and FAW). If customers customize their CSP (phase/state) then may need to create custom formula like your example above.
If I think of anything else I can provide another update, but again if we can get someone from the Oracle recruiting side provide you with the OTBI "formula" that would be the best approach.
I also tried creating a sample visualization with the formula from your last update. We would want to see openings to fill over time so I did a simple line graph and filtered on just one requisition (#1695) - screenshot below. This requisition has 4 total openings and 2 candidates that are currently in the HR phase.
- Looking at the results - 2023 Q2 shows 2 openings to fill. We had one candidate move to HR phase during this quarter - not sure why it is showing 2. We would expect a value of 3.
- 2023 Q3 - We had one candidate (different than #1) move to the HR phase in this quarter. Report shows 3 openings - so it is ignoring candidate from #1 since it is outside of this quarter. We would expect a value of 2.
- 2023 Q4 and beyond is the same problem. We would expect openings to fill to be 2, but report has 4 because it is not accounting for candidates from prior quarters.
I wanted to call out this use case so you can see how we would want to use this metric. Other customers might have additional requirements too.

I would agree with everything Mike said. His parameters for what OTBI is using match what I have seen, and I agree OTBI and FDI/FAW should match. Also point in time reporting on this field would be amazing!
