Hi,

When I try to install Advanced Analytics on Windows 10 Pro 64BIT I am getting the error:

Oracle R Distribution install failed to update registry, installer exited with 0.

Can anybody tell me what the problem is?

Have you tried,  Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator?

Is there anything in the rinstall.log ?  Do you have a different version of R already installed?

Of course but that doesn't work.

Possibly an issue with the how the proxy is configured on the machine, it would be very helpful to know if a proxy server is used and if so if it is configured using a script or manually set.

It would then appear that the R installer has not been downloaded. So please check to see if the following file is present:

C:\Users\AortaBI\AppData\Local\Temp\R-3.1.1-win.exe

No, there is no Proxy Server. And the R installer runs just fine but after the installation it gives an error about the registry.

As a sanity test, can you download the package directly from CRAN to test.

What is the language configuration of your machine?

Could be worth looking at this:

In the referenced case it appears to be an issue with he proxy config.  Try Internet Options -> Connections tab -> LAN settings, and uncheck Automatically detect settings.

If you Google your other error message in the log: ANOMALY: use of REX.w is meaningless

You will find lots of info.  I don't think it is relevant to your issue but could be wrong.

I have also seen some situations on DV where we had to spoof the proxy with the gateway IP

• Obtain the gateway IP of your server or machine
  
  • unix: ifconfig -a  or netstat -r -n  or route -n
  • windows: ipconfig
    

• Update the proxy.txt with: proxy=[your gateway IP]:80
