BI Publisher pass variable to sub template for each record
Summary
BI Publisher pass variable to sub template for each record
Content
Hi All,
I have a main report rtf template and query that lists projects. I need to add a sub template that then gets engineer names from a different record depending on what the Project ID is in the main template.
How do I pass the project id from the main rtf template to the sub template?
Main RTF
Project 1 ID
Sub RTF - Engineer Name based on Project ID
Project 2 ID
Sub RTF - Engineer Name based on Project 2 ID
Project 3 ID
Sub RTF - Engineer Name based on Project 3 ID
etc...
Thanks,
John

Hi Venkat,
Yes, the main template has 1 data source (Projects) and the sub template has a different data source (Engineers). Project ID is the common value between the two. Is this possible within BI Publisher or do I need to figure out a way to connect the data within Peoplesoft into 1 query?
Thanks!
John

does this report have two data sets within one data model for project Id and engineer names ? Are Project Id and Engineer names are retrieving from single query ? please detail about your data sources for these two fields ?

Thanks 335,
Unfortunately, that doesn't clearly tell me how to pass the Project ID from the Main query to the sub template query... similar to how this would function inside of a Crystal report with a sub report that is passed the project ID variable to retrieve the project in the sub report with the same ID.
What am I overlooking?
Thanks,
John
