As it is a major upgrade from 11g release products(ODI, OBIEE, and Weblogic) to 12c should we do an out of the place upgrade or it can be done with some upgrade utility?

Hi Vivek, there is no direct upgrade from OBIA 11.1.1.9.2 to OBIA 11.1.1.10.3.

OBIA upgrades needs to be performed sequencially due to Data Model changes which are tied to each release version so upgrade sequence will be OBIA 11.1.1.9.2 OBIA 11.1.1.10.1 > OBIA 11.1.1.10.2. and finally plan migration to OBIA 11.1.1.10.3.

Oracle is recommending if possible to do a new install and then to reapply any customizations manually in 10.3. However if you have many customizations the steps for migration are documented above. Steps for a new install are below.

It seems there is no in-place upgrade it's kind of re-implementation!

Customers on OBIA 11.1.1.9.2 and 11.1.1.10.1 releases can now directly upgrade to the latest BI APPS release 11.1.1.10.3 PS3.
