One of my client is expecting similar reporting capability as Discoverer reports in Oracle Fusion , is OTBI a like to like replacement of Discoverer reports in Fusion world ?

It will be a mix of both OTBI and BI Publisher reports. You can easily create drag and drop day to day transactions reports using OTBI but it doesn't have the capability like Discoverer to write your own code and call external registered functions.

Thanks for your response , I understand that we cannot add our own code but outside OTBI and BIP is there any other option which can resemble Discoverer like functionality in Fusion , may be like a Smart View or a FAW report ?

As per my understanding FAW is mostly for high level management reports like KPI's, dashboards etc.
I don't think there will be like for like reports in Fusion considering the amount of customizations applied at EBS side, unless those reports are based on standard functionality.
FAW gives pre-built reports based on standard functionality. For the customizations, same thing to be brought into FAW as well.
We have used combination of BICCC (for retrieving PVOs from Fusion), BIP extracts and loaded into custom warehouse using ADW. Then created reports using OAC for multiple customers. Here the advantage is we can pull data not only from Fusion, we can blend data from other sources as well like PBCS, FCCS, etc.
