Provide SDK for custom BI Dashboard visualisations

BI Dashboards have not had any new visualisations for 3+ years now, which is quite embarrassing for an analytics product.    We are constantly getting asked to embed D3 visualisations into the dashboards (usually after seen cool visuals being promoted on other platforms).

Whilst it is possible to use implement custom visuals into the dashboards using javascript and narrative veiws, there is no way end users can do this without developer support, it provides a maintenance headache and it is difficult to make the custom views look fully integrated (e.g. cannot use custom visuals with column selectors, printing, saved customisations, master-detail linking etc etc)..

Could Oracle provide some form of SDK so that partners can implement custom visuals in a similar way that can be achieved in Data Viz?   This would enable partners to build new visuals that are seamlessly integrated into the dashboards, like the existing built-in visuals.

Use Case and Business Need

We feel the dashboarding component has to keep up with competitors - providing new visuals (or at least allow partners to develop them) is a great way to keep the product feeling modern
