Dash board Prompt before opening page loading message customization
Organization Name
Mcafee
Description
Please find below the complete background of the Service Request…
Problem Description: -
Any report in the analytics area of OEC that has filter fields in the header should not auto-run when the user clicks on the report tab. The user should always be given the option to apply filters before the report kicks off.
Solution: -
To delay the execution of a dashboard page we have enabling “Prompt before Opening” option. This resolved the auto-run issue.
Steps followed: -
1. Edit the dashboard.
2. Click the Tools toolbar button and select Dashboard Properties.
3. Locate the page in the Dashboard Pages area and select the Prompt before Opening box.
4. Click OK.
5. Click the Save toolbar button.
But when we run the dashboard, a message appears on the top of screen saying "Opening this dashboard page may take a while. Select prompt values and click Continue if you want to open this page". This is a valid message which is controlled by administrator and it is due to selection of “Prompt before Opening option”.
This message is quite confusing to the user and they what to update it to "You must provide search criteria for this report. Please select values using the filters below then click the Continue button". So please provide your inputs.
Use Case and Business Need
When we try to open the Dashboard a message is displayed which needs to be customised.

Hi Rakesh,
Thanks for posting the new idea. I have moved it to the appropriate board, which is 'OBIEE for Applications' for action.
Thanks
Anand
