Oracle Analytics Server Quarterly Patching

For Oracle Analytics Server (on-premise), Oracle provides multiple patching programs, namely quarterly Critical Patch Updates (CPU) focused only on security vulnerabilities, and quarterly bundle patches focused on product fixes.

For Oracle Analytics Cloud patching is transparently managed by the Oracle Analytics team.

In January 2022, the "Stack Patch Bundle" (SPB) was introduced.

Each quarter, the SPB patching has been improved. In April 2023, the SPB includes all the required CPU's from the infrastructure (including weblogic) to Oracle Analytics Server (sans the JDK + RCU database). The patch is applied with a single utility (that also updates Opatch).
