Allow users to save their own customization in DV/Workbook similar to Classic Dashboards.
It will be big help to users save their own DVs customization.
Voting for this idea. In "classical" Dashboards this is very much used feature/option (to preserve values for filtering along with adjustments of analysis exposed on Dashboards( . Thus if DV should replace classical tools somewhere in the future, it is must have capability in DV.

thanks. i find myself questioning WHY /such and such/ functionality is available in Classic but not in DV.
a while ago, i had the opportunity to talk with someone at oracle and i told him my concern, emphasizing that i trued to "sell" DV to my users but all the time they would decide stating in Classic , because they miss functions.
the person from oracle clarified: at the moment DV is NOT planned to replace Classic mode. i was very surprised to hear that! (!?!?)

Interesting - my impression is, that since there is no effort directed towards extending/improving Classic, the direction is to slowly (not immediately) switch/replace Classics to DV. But apparently nobody from Analytics Product Mgmt is willing to say it directly to give customer clear "direction" and message.
This is a must-have for our users, at both the canvas and dashboard filter levels. The dashboards we have developed in OAC serve many different organizations across the enterprise so users typically set 3 to 5 filters on each dashboard. Having to do this each time they switch between canvases is very frustrating.
It is not a question of if or when DV will replace Classic; it is a question of the viability of the feature to deliver an analytics experience/application to the user. We also believe it is a critical feature to have in DV. The first step is Personalization which is planned to Preview in September. This feature will remember the consumer user filter state (Dashboard filter bar and Visualization filters) and reapply them when the user opens or refreshes the dashboard. We plan to continue and enhance this capability, but this initial capability will cover the most basic and common needs of dashboard consumers.

@Gabi Rumble-Oracle, I was pleased to hear about the feature to save the filter selections for our consumers. It appears this this are the dashboard filters visualization and not the prompts, so the user would need to need to filter each canvas, correct? If they they used the prompt a the top of the canvas that and had it pinned to multiple canvases, would these values be saved?
Another important feature in the Classic, is the right click to sort, rearrange, add and move columns. Users can change the format of their report and save it as a customization. I think this should be listed under another idea lab, but the users make these changes they would want to save the customizations.

With the dashboard filters, you have a higher level of control as to which filter values are shared or not shared between canvases, unlike the Pin operation, which is all or one. The way to achieve it is to create the filter bar once, bind parameters to the shared ones, and just copy-paste the dashboard filter bar to any canvas you want. If you want a specific canvas to have an individual (unsynced) value, just unbind the parameter for that canvas. Additionally, you can have some canvases sharing the same value and others sharing another by binding separate variables to the same filter in different canvases.
This is in addition to the ability to properly design the dashboard filter bar, create filters with sub-selections of columns, and allow selection on multiple filters before applying them all at once to the dashboard.
We are planning to expend personalization to other dashboard operations such as drill, pivot, sort, etc.
