How do I determine a person record is merged in Oracle HCM Fusion

We have a series of outbound demographic files to third parties and we are paying thousands in additional licensing due to "merged" person records being included. For example, John Smith is onboarded twice. HR merges the two records into one and I need to be able to exclude the merged record from the outbound demographic file. I'm looking for a flag, status, table, etc.. that we can check to verify it is not a merged record.
