OAC Action link not working in chrome and edge browser
Team,
We have created a dashboard report in OAC with an action link. Enabled the Arabic translation for the catalog. With English language, action link navigates to the target dashboard in any browser without any issues.
When Arabic being used, the action link works in Firefox browser and navigates to the target dashboard, the same action link is not working in Chrome and Edge browsers.
Seeking your support and will provide more details if required.
Thanks,
Selvam

Hi Selvam,
How are you creating the link? By any chance are you using href tag?
Even if you are not using href, try disabling javascript for the browser and test if action link would work.
As another potential workaround, avoid resizing the browser window. Set it to be big enough and check if it would work fine.
Regards,
Ezequiel.

Thanks Ezequiel,
When I try disabling the javascript for browser, the OAC screen itself i not coming up.
Also I tried by avoid resizing the browser window (Kept it at 100%) no luck, action link is not navigating to the target url. same issue.
Below is the screenshot of the Action links.
and one more action link has the href.
Both link are not working and have same behaviour.
Hope to hear your thoughts.

Since OBIEE 12c the whole interface is mainly javascript, you will not see a thing in OAS/OAC (classic and even less DV).

Please don't disable JS. The whole solution is built on it and trying to fix a problem by disabling JS is like trying to cure an illness by telling the patient to "stop breathing".

I have enabled the javascript again. Still action link is not working in Arabic translated reports . any thoughts.
Thanks in advance for your help

To make sure I understand your situation...
You are working on OAC (therefore let's assume latest version, July I believe) and creating an analysis in "classic". In your analysis you define an action link on a column. All good, everything works in all browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Edge).
You then enable the translation for the catalog and define a translation for Arabic.
At this point, when using the Arabic translation, your action link still works in Firefox, while doesn't work anymore in Chrome and Edge.
Did I understand your case correctly?
Because it is dependent on the browser, in Chrome or Edge, do you see anything special when you look in the browser's console? And any other message compared to what you see in the Firefox browser's control.
Action links are fully javascript based, the browser's engine matters.
Because of the browsers involved, with Edge and Chrome being both based on the Chromium engine, while Firefox does use their own Quantum engine, it could simply be a bug.
While the recent browsers are fairly similar in behavior (not like back in the IE years), the fact they do use different engines means they can behave differently, and the fact that your bug is consistent on the Chromium engine, would make me say it's a bug and you should report it in a SR.
For a full picture you could also try with Safari: it is based on the WebKit engine, therefore could work or not (but helps the people working on the SR to focus on the right direction: Chromium the one not working or Firefox the only one working...).

Your understanding with the issue is correct.
In addition to that, for the same report we have a view selector and all three views has the same interaction column. In one view selection, the column navigation to the report works good in Arabic as well, but in other 2 selected views the navigation is not working only in Arabic translated report.
Will check on the Safari browser and keep updated.
will work with support for the possible bug.
Thanks..

The bug is not published, but you can let customers know it is a known issue when using action links with right to left languages and the fix is coming in a future update.
