Hello,

We would like to know what is the best way to restrict access to OTBI folders depending on the user's access.

Meaning, we would like the AB BU users to have access only to the OTBI reports created in the Folder AB and also to only see the OTBI UAB folder only.

Taking the case of the AB BU users: the location of the folder is /Shared Folders/ Custom/AB.

We would like the users who have Data Access to AB BU to only see this folder and not all the others.

Hi Cristina,

How are you controlling access in SUI? Do you have any custom role specific to AB BU ? If yes that should restrict access to OTBI analysis as well.

In BI, basically we have 3 main roles :

1. BI Consumer Role : Which provides Read/Traverse access to user
2. BI Author Role : Which provides Create/Read/Update access to user.
3. BI Administrator role : Provides the Admin access to the user including Delete option.

And these roles will be inherited with respective OOTB roles you will add as Sales Representative/Sales Manager/Sales Administrator respectively.

Note : Access of data seen in SUI will be same with BI and should not change.

If still user is able to view other folders as well, then try providing access to the custom role only to the folder: /Shared Folders/ Custom/AB and test the results.
