Crystal reports to OBIEE/BIP

we have a proposal our organization to convert crystal reports to OBIEE/BIP, my question in regards to this topic are:
(i know they are bit wage question but any input will help)
1.currently crystal reports are launched from a portal, when these reports are recreated in BIP, do user have to login into obiee/bip and then run report or can we put all reports in some portal and user can run reports from there?
2.In OBIEE we have data level object level security, will that apply to BIP reports also? what i mean is OBIEE analysis hit the repository and BIP directly connects to the database through JDBC connection
2.Does stand alone BIP 11g perform any better or has any advantages over the OBIEE 11g integrated one
3.Out of your experience did anyone of u see any major issues or drawbacks(crystal to BIP conversion)?

1. You can use OBIEE in conjunction with single server sign-on. You can use BI agents to send OBIEE reports via e-mail without users ever logging in. You can generate html pages from OBIEE and publish them to a web site. In short OBIEE is a powerful tool and with the right people can achieve powerful results.
2. Stand alone is meant to be vanilla - plug and play. Integrated you can customise, if you have time, skills and experience.
3. Not done this, and the answer depends on which option you take. The two are very different solutions though.
Hope this helps,
Robert.
