When will OAS support session variables which can be updated and used inside the Dataset dialog

OAS datasets tables can be configured with logical SQL but do not support session variables inside the logical SQL. This makes the use of logical SQL not usable for us as we must transfer to the RPD session variables to get the data we need. We therefore have to use instead of logical SQL, Analysis from Oracle Applications which contain the required session variables. In turn this makes the process of duplicating gold datasets very cumbersome which is a shame as the business needs duplication of gold datasets sometimes for up to 50 dataset instances e.g. for different products, time intervals etc... Our customers see this as a key obstacle to use DV workbooks/datasets instead of the traditional classic dashboards.

Question : when will the dataset dialog provide variables which can be used in the logical SQL as (session) variables / as well could such variables be used in Analysis from Oracle Applications ideally as session variables?

There is already a similar Enhancement Request submitted in the Ideas Lab. Although the request for the variables in this case is in the physical SQL of data sets. You can read it and check if it would serve your purposes and vote for it:
