OTBI Performance tiles for non measure fields
Hi,
We would like to create a performance tile in OTBI analysis that will count distinct SR references that were opened in the last 2 days. Meaning, we want to use a dimension for calculation and a measure.
I can't "pull" the relevant field into the function dialog.
How can this be done?
Thank you

Hi, Good news! Yes this can be done. In the presentation tables in your subject areas as you say you have 2 types or presentation columns; blue ones "attributes" (known as a dimension) and "yellow rulers" "measures" (known as facts). It is true that in the view type a of Performance Tile you can only select measures not attributes. But the good news is that if you edit the formula of a column in your query with a function such as count(distinct "t"."attribute column") then you have created your very own custom "measure" column, as it is no longer an attribute, so you CAN include it in a view of type performance tile. You can also use it as a measure in chart views and use it in totals and subtotals in your tables and pivot views etc.
