OBI EE 12c and Oracle Database Version Question; Certification Matrix referred to however not clear.

Hi,

We are on OBI EE 11.1.1.7.0 and the backend Oracle database version is 11.2.0.3 (patch set 5 applied). We understand that it's best to go for the latest version. However, we are not sure about the database upgrade at the moment.

From the Certification matrix, it's clear that OBI EE 12.2.1.1.0 needs Oracle 11.2.0.4 as a minimum. FMW 12.1.x is compatible with 11.2.0.3 Oracle Database. But, we are not sure about OBI EE 12c (12.1.x) as the Certification Matrix does not show OBI EE as a product offered.

Can someone please clarify whether or not OBI EE 12.1.x is availble and is compatible with Oracle database 11.2.0.3 (Data Source and RCU utility compatible)?

Edit: FMW 12.2.x clearly mentions OBI EE as a product offered, however, FMW 12.1.x certification matrix does not.

I don't think anyone will answer you anything other than "because Oracle wants so".

All 11g version are 11.1.1.x. There is no 11.2. 12c started with 12.2 number. It's marketing.

Thanks Andrew for confirming. I am asked a question why Oracle did not release OBI EE 12.1 first before 12.2.
