Performance issues when using OAC direct connection with EPM Cloud

When using the EPM Cloud direct connect option to pull in data from Essbase to OAC we are consistently seeing major performance issues. There are times were we cannot even pull in a single column of data to visualization and previously built visuals take a very long time to load. To mitigate the issue we are constantly cancelling queries on the OAC & Essbase (calc manager) side.
In our environment we are not using the RPD but rather creating the cube as a dataset.
Does anyone have any recommendations on how to increase the stability of the direct connection? I am aware of the CEAL team article and their previous suggestions.
Thank you

Hi @Conor Murnane,
Can we assume you are referring to the following MOS document / Blog?
Best Practices for Performance of Oracle Analytics Cloud with Enterprise Performance Management Cloud (Doc ID 2991905.1)
Best Practices for Performance of Oracle Analytics Cloud with Enterprise Performance Management Cloud. If yes, understand that it is geared to a semantic model implementation.
To add:
What is your oCPU size?
Do you have any Essbase governor set?
This may potentially help:Increase IDCS rate limit/filtering in IDCS for EPM Tenancy.
- Document for checking the API rate limits for IAM.
- Refer below document for checking the API rate limits for IDCS.
Make sure IDCS rate limit is increased in EPM tenancy to 3000-4000.
If those do not help, then a Service Request may be required to review logs.

Hi Conor, Is this happening under load or with single user on OAC running simple report? Is Essbase is located in same tenancy where you have OAC?

Is OAC and Essbase in the same region or different regions?
Are both OAC and Essbase Public-End point or private end points or mixed ? is that Essbase Marketplace ? do you connect with IP Address or FQDN when you create the connection ?
if you can upload a screen shot of the connection you used that will help you can mask IP Addresses or Server Name
