We are deploying Oracle Fusion with FDI. Some of our data is sourced outside of Fusion. We have started using SFTP as a data source. In FDI We have to create a spreadsheet of the metadata and locate it in a folder with the same name as the table to be created.
In the data workshop in Oracle Apex, the system sample's the first 1000 rows and creates a best guess set of metadata. Editing the upload profile is very much part of the upload user experience.
In FDI the data steward has to build up the metadata themselves and create a spreadsheet that is disconnected to the upload user experience.
