Unable to find BI roles like BI Administrator Role in Oracle fusion instance

Hi Team,

We are trying to add BI Administrator Role for user but unable to find the role itself. User having IT Security Manager role also is unable to find and add this role for the users. Kindly let us know if there is any other setup required for roles to be visibile in system.

Are you using FDI or OTBI? if you are using FDI refer below link for Roles. You can able to see/map from IDCS console.

If the question is about FDI/FAW, please start with the documentation here: https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/saas/analytics/24r3/fawag/managing-users-groups-application-roles-and-data-access.html#GUID-87C64605-96B0-4EC8-B040-9A8D0D1CC7D6

FDI should be in the same IDCS Domain Stripe as FA so the users and roles can be kept in sync.

We will be using BIP reports. Trying to add BI Administrator role for the user but unable to find that under Security Console > Role & Privileges itself.

Also, Reports & Analytics is not visible under Tools. Kindly help.

Okay . Before answering your quesiton. Are you using cloud Version or onprem version? if its cloud version is its integrated product with FDI?

Its cloud version only, not Onprem. I did'nt get your question about FDI.

Its just setting up of role for user and that role is not reflecting. We are trying to add BI Administrator Role for user but unable to find the role itself. User having IT Security Manager role also is unable to find and add this role for the users. Also, Reports & Analytics is not visible under Tools for the user not having BI Administrator Role assigned. But user with IT Security Manager is able to see and access Reports & Analytics under Tools.

This is an FDI forum and Fusion Data Intelligence(FDI) is integrated with bi publisher and analytics & dv applications.

can you share me your screenshot for Review where you are planning to provide an access/assign roles?

PFA the screenshot.

Navigation is Security Console > Users > Edit User Account > Add Role. When trying to search for any BI role or Manage Reports and Analytics role, it does not show up.

This is an expected Behavior Only as your are searching from fusion application. Not from BIP Administration page or IDCS

We are able to see and add roles in other fusion instances in the same manner. Also, have done in the same way in the past.

We don;t need IDCS and BIP Administration to add roles to user. And that is what Oracle also suggest.
