Between Date Parameter in OBIEE 11g Report

Question

Dear All,

I'm new here and using OBIEE 11g and trying to make a report involving between date parameter. Here, i want the user to select a date range that will filter report grids accordingly.

When i add a date parameter, the only option i see in 'Operator' drop down list is 'is equal to / is in'.

Can i make a parameter using between operator in report?

Thank you for your reply.

Actually the column i'm using is of Date type. One thing that i mentioned before as well is that i'm trying to achieve this while working on report (BI Publisher) and not on analysis. In Analysis, same thing works and i'm able to make 'is between' prompt.

Any idea?

Make sure that the column you are using for your filter is DATE or DATETIME character type.

If so you should see the 'between' operator in the dropdown:

EDIT: I just checked and even if the character type is CHAR or VARCHAR, it still seems you should be able to see the 'is between' operator. I am not sure as to why you are not seeing anything other than 'is equal to/is in'. Hopefully one of the more experienced gurus here will be able to help. My apologies for not being of more help.
